How do I file an umbrella claim?
Umbrella claims are typically administered through the underlying claim. When a primary-policy claim looks like it will exceed the underlying limit, the carrier handling the primary opens communication with the umbrella carrier and they coordinate. Your action item is the same as on any liability claim: report it promptly, don't admit fault, send the documentation, and let the carriers run the defense.
