My employer has group LTD and I have an individual LTD. How do they coordinate?
Carefully. Most group LTD policies include offsets — they reduce your group benefit by the amount of any individual LTD payment, Social Security Disability (SSDI), Workers' Comp, or other income. Two policies don't always equal twice the benefit at claim time. Some individual policies are written specifically to not offset group LTD; some group policies allow individual policy payments to be excluded from offsets.
