What does accident insurance NOT cover?

Standard exclusions: illness (pneumonia, flu, cancer — these need separate hospital indemnity or critical illness coverage), routine medical care, pre-existing conditions, self-inflicted injuries, injuries from war or military service, injuries from criminal activity, and injuries from extreme sports (some policies have specific exclusions for skydiving, mountaineering, etc.). Pregnancy complications are typically not covered as accidents but may have separate riders.
