What's the difference between general liability and professional liability?

General liability covers bodily injury and property damage claims arising from your business premises or operations — for example, a patient slipping in your waiting room. Professional liability (malpractice) covers claims that your professional advice, diagnosis, or treatment caused harm. Most healthcare businesses need both: general liability for the physical space and professional liability for the clinical work.
