If a patient falls in my waiting room, which policy responds?
Waiting room falls and other premises incidents are general liability claims, not professional liability claims. That is why every chiropractic practice needs both coverages. If the fall happened during or immediately after a treatment (a patient stepping down from the table, for example), there may be a question of whether professional negligence is alleged — but the general liability carrier typically takes the first response position.
