I'm leaving a clinical practice. What do I do about my malpractice tail and credentialing?

Three coordinated steps: (1) confirm in writing whether your current practice or you will pay tail coverage on the existing claims-made policy (refer to your employment contract — see Batch 1 / Med Mal). (2) Place new individual or new-employer malpractice coverage with no gap. (3) Notify the hospitals and facilities where you have privileges of the change in carrier. Credentialing offices typically require updated COIs within 30 days of any insurance change; failing to provide them can suspend privileges. We coordinate the malpractice transition, tail negotiation, and credentialing-office notifications as one workflow when clinicians change practices.
