What does EPLI cover?

EPLI covers defense costs and damages from employment-related claims by current, former, and prospective employees: wrongful termination, discrimination (race, sex, age, disability, etc.), sexual harassment, hostile work environment, retaliation, wage and hour disputes (sometimes — many policies sublimit or exclude), failure to promote, breach of employment contract, defamation related to employment, and violations of state and federal employment laws. Coverage extends to lawsuits, agency complaints (EEOC, DFEH, NY DHR, NYC CCHR), and in some forms to demand letters that haven't yet ripened into formal claims.
